New press kit on France’s Culture & Heritage – out now!

As part of the #ExploreFrance campaign – Dream Big, Live Slow – Atout France has developed a new press kit celebrating culture and heritage across France.

It’s impossible to write about France without mentioning culture – but that, in itself, is a far-reaching term, and means different things to different people. Do you think of the customs of a society, tightly woven into their way of life? Perhaps museums, art galleries and concerts spring to mind? Or architectural heritage, or literature, or language? Whatever your interpretation of culture, France is full of all the above – and this brand-new press kit sums up the best of 2025’s cultural offerings across all 13 regions. It strives to be fully inclusive by providing tips on activities or accommodation that are accessible to people with disabilities.

The country boasts over 8,000 museums, 180 villages with the ‘Most Beautiful’ label, 53 UNESCO-listed properties and a staggering 46,363 monuments historiques including parks and gardens. Following last year’s reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris, 2025 brings the Year of Cézanne to Aix-en-Provence, the Caen Millennium, the 40th anniversary of the Pont du Gard, the opening of the first museum dedicated to female Impressionist Berthe Morisot and an eclectic mix of festivals. Four French cities have already been designated European Capital of Culture, with Bourges set to join this prestigious list in 2028.

So dive in and devour this round-up of the best of Cultural France!
