On 13 June 2015 the Villa Cavrois will re-open to the public after having undergone extensive renovations since 2003. The modern-day château is one of the most famous works of contemporary architecture in France and is one of the few remaining examples of the work of the famous architect Robert Mallet-Stevens. Along with Le Corbusier, Robert Mallet-Stevens is regarded as one of the most influential figures in French architecture and the Villa undoubtedly exemplifies his art and talent. After a long period of abandonment, during which the building was vandalised, the monument was saved by the French state, who called on the Centre des Monuments Nationaux to restore and re-open it to the public.
