Own a Breton islandfor a night
Looking for an adventure just like Robinson Crusoe’s story? In Northern Brittany, on the Pink Granite Coast, you can walk to Milliau Island on foot at low tide. When the evening tide comes in, day visitors return to the mainland, leaving you alone on Milliau and its 23 hectares of unspoilt nature. Go swimming, go exploring, or simply unwind on your own island. And when the fun is over, you can snuggle up in the ancient 16th century farmhouse which has been converted in to a friendly gîte! Even better, prices start at 20 euros per person, including one night in one of the 3 gîtes. © Derennes.

Normandy in lights
It’s that time of year when the sun sets late and temperatures are mild – the perfect weather or a light show! See the façade of Rouen Cathedral come to life with William the Conqueror and Viking history, or follow a colourful narrative depicting life and freedom, displayed on Bayeux Cathedral and its magnificent Liberty Tree. Venture south to the city of Sées and marvel at the annual light show projected onto its cathedral, a national monument and well worth a visit. For something off the beaten track, visit the Manoir du Courboyer in the Perche Regional Natural Park for a spectacular lightshow telling the heritage of this area, famous for its Percheron horses. © Patrice Le Bris / OT Bayeux Intercom.
