2019 is set to be another great year for the capital starting off with Showtime in Paris. A packed cultural agenda, major monument anniversaries, new gastronomic restaurants…Here is the lowdown on what to expect.

SHOWTIME IN PARIS

For its second edition, the operation Showtime in Paris will take place from 25 February to 10 March 2019. This year, the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau and Atout France are once again throwing the spotlight on the capital’s most iconic shows. On this occasion, the venues are rolling out the red carpet for you to discover their latest shows and top line-ups at bargain prices with the offer ‘1 ticket purchased = 1 free ticket’.   • Opening of Octopus, trendy brasserie and cocktail bar by Maison Rostang in La Défense –  March 2019
  • Launch of the new street food market at Saint-Lazare station– Spring 2019
  • Opening of La Halle aux Grains, restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Michel Bras at the Bourse de Commerce –  Spring 2019
  • Opening in a former train station of the Petite Ceinture railroad of Le Poinçon restaurant at Porte d’Orléans –  April 2019
  • The Vallée Village, an open-air village with more than 110 fashion and lifestyle boutiques is opening new stores
  • The Grande Épicerie, the famous world’s first department store, open an outpost at Passy in the 16th arrondissement
  • The French department store Printemps has created a new gastronomic place on the 7th and 8th floors of the flagship store, with a rooftop restaurant.
  • Opening of Galeries Lafayette at the Champs-Elysées in a 9,000m2 store dedicated to fashion with panoramic restaurant and Chanel boutique on the ground floor– 28 March

  • Reopening after renovation works of the floating guinguettes Rosa Bonheur sur Seine and Rosa Bonheur à l’Ouest– Spring 2019
  • Paris is continuing its green vision of and following creating pedestrian promenade of the Parc Rives de Seine and Place de la République, the Place de la Nation and Place de la Bastille will now also be re-developed to make Paris more green and sustainable for the future.
