Designed like a work of art by the architect Jean Nouvel, the Philharmonie de Paris has been in the making since 2010. Located in the Parc de la Villette, it encompasses the current Cité de la Musique (renamed Philharmonie 2) and the new building equipped with a 2,400-seat auditorium (Philharmonie 1). The particularity of this new concert hall is that even the spectator seated furthest away is still at a distance of only 32 metres from the conductor!
