A robust French presence once again at IMM TravMedia 2024

Atout France’s UK press team was joined by a total of 46 representatives on 30 French stands – including destinations, networks and private partners – to represent France at the 12th annual IMM (International Media Marketplace) in London. Organised by TravMedia, IMM is the world’s leading press networking event in the tourism sector and was held on 19 and 20 February at the QEII Centre, Westminster.

Across the two-day event, Atout France and its partners had the opportunity to hold 36 one-to-one meetings with British and Irish journalists and influencers in a dedicated ‘French zone’, presenting the latest news from France. In addition to holding individual meetings, partners were able to attend the very first TravMedia Summit on the morning of day one, comprising four panel discussions with a range of key speakers around the theme of sustainable travel. There were also two lunches and a drinks reception for further informal networking, with over 400 media in attendance.

Atout France and its partners enjoyed renewing and strengthening their relationships with the UK and Irish media. With a total of 46 French representatives present, it was once again a large French delegation, indicating a strong continued recovery for the UK and Irish market in its nearest neighbour. Cumulative international tourism receipts in France to the end of August 2023 stood at €44.3 billion, up 13% on 2019 (source: Banque de France). With major anniversaries including D-Day’s 80th and Impressionism’s 150th, plus the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games taking place in Paris and other French destinations, 2024 is set to be a special year for France, with a surge in visitor numbers expected versus 2019.
